J+J/Invision’s new Night at the Circus carpet line was inspired by jugglers and acrobats and was designed to provide a variety of patterns for interior spaces. Depending on the design, the line is available in modular and broadloom formats. The backing is PVC-free and manufactured with recycled content.

Flooring

The Mohawk Group introduces its new generation of 100 percent non-PVC thermoplastic contract modular carpeting. The patent-pending Encycle modular carpet backing system is designed with three thermoplastic layers and zero water-based components, enabling it to be completely recycled back into new Encycle backing through thermal re-activation without separating face fibers from backing layers.

Impervious to moisture, the new backing system incorporates 35 percent pre-consumer recycled content by total product weight. The flooring solution also incorporates 28 percent less virgin raw materials than the previous generation of PVC modular carpet. Recommended adhesives meet VOC emissions standards. Encycle is backed by a non-prorated lifetime warranty against all forms of backing failure. Under its ReCover program, when Encycle products reach the end of their useful life, Mohawk will reclaim and recycle the carpet back into new Encycle products.

Carbon-Neutral Carpeting

The Ghost Artist carpet line from Milliken draws inspirations from architectural designs that use grid overlays, curvilinear components and geometry to create striking changes to boxy profiles. The carbon-neutral product comes with an optional bio-based backing and adhesive-free installation to prevent off-gassing. It also meets several environmental certification standards.

Modular Carpet

Milliken Carpet manufacturers Stimulus, an environmentally modular carpet collection. The carpet comes standard with ES backing that is antimicrobial and moisture-resistant. The collection meets the CRI Green Label Plus Certification for Indoor Air Quality as well as the Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard. It can also contribute to LEED certification.

Made of the manufacturer’s WearOn nylon type 6, the carpet has a PVC-free cushion backing that is designed to improve ergonomics, acoustics and long-term wear.

Bio-based TractionBack, the patented adhesive-free installation system for modular carpet, helps to improve IAQ by eliminating VOCs and off-gassing. Tiles and panels are available in 18-inch x18-inch and 36-inch x 36-inch squares, area rugs, and 6-foot and 12-foot wide carpets.

Commercial Carpeting

Tandus has created a large-scale patterned floor covering designed specifically for schools and facilities with wide hallways. It is available in 6-foot Powerbond and monolithic tile in 18-inch x 18-inch and 36-inch x 36-inch sizes.

The product is 75 percent solution-dyed and 25 percent yarn-dyed, and is made with a minimum of 31 percent overall recycled content. Available in seven color variations, it is constructed of Stratatec patterned loop.
